About Us

Specialists in timeless classic styles, where comfort comes as standard.

The company was started over 60 years ago, by Eric Hill, who was a designer for Harrods, the famous London department store. He started out by placing an advertisement in the Daily Telegraph, and found there was a market for well designed, classical clothing in excellent fabrics.

Today the range has expanded to include shirtwaister dresses, A-line and gored skirts, classic knitwear, well-cut trousers and more. There are clothes for special occasions and for wearing every day.

But what makes the collection truly outstanding is that most of the garments are actually washable. You could never tell, just by looking, as they have the smart, tailored look of dry clean only - yet they feel soft and comfortable and wash well time and again.

Quality and high standards - guaranteed

All the clothes are made to exceptionally high standards of workmanship, in superb quality fabrics, and come with the famous Eric Hill 'Cast-Iron Guarantee'. If you're not happy, simply return the goods at any time for a full refund or exchange.

Eric Hill is still a family-owned company, after it was bought in 2007 by James Johnson-Ferguson, a British entrepreneur, who previously worked as a consultant for mail order clothing companies such as James Meade and Magellan’s. He lives in South London with his wife, five children, a dog and two cats.
