What data we hold and why

We always comply with or exceed the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.

• When you register, we take information such as your name, email address, delivery address and contact details. If you place an order we also ask for your credit card details. This information is needed for us to recognise you as a customer and fulfil the orders you place with us.
• We keep a record of your purchases so that we can deal quickly and efficiently with any queries you may have. It also helps us make sure that information we send you is likely to be relevant.
• We keep a record of your electronic and postal correspondence with us so that we can keep track of any problems or concerns you have had with our products or services.
• We may record and monitor telephone calls to help with staff training and ensure high levels of service.
• The Eric Hill website uses cookies, which are small text files sent to your computer. This is standard practice and allows you to move from one part of the website to another and add items to the shopping basket without having to log in repeatedly. They are not computer programmes, and can’t read other information saved on your hard drive or spread a virus.
